Blog 04: Short Drama Video

こんにちは!

Last week, I came across the video below on my Youtube feed and decided to click on it out of curiosity.

Video Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_1yJRt6dQ4

The video is Japanese Listening Practice, intended to help beginners like me get a sense of what Japanese sounds in a day-to-day situation! The video plays a story twice, once without subtitles and the other time with subtitles + explanations (with examples) on some Japanese words/phrases.

In this video, the cute characters went to a Conveyor Belt Sushi Restaurant. When I was hearing it, I immediately noticed the use of これ, それ, and あれ! It felt like a review of last week's material.

What I like about this video is the speed at which the characters talk. They speak at a slower pace, making it easy to take in and understand what they are saying.

I recommend this video + the other Listening Practices in their Youtube channel!

  1. Thank you for recommending this video! I definitely agree that this video felt like a review of これ、それ、and あれ. The sentence structures were the exact same as the ones we learned in class! I loved how I was able to understand everything the characters were saying even when there were no subtitles given at first. I enjoyed how beginner friendly this video was!
