After a long summer break and starting school again, I realized that I forgot much of what I had learned in Elementary Japanese I. Since I didn't practice my Japanese over the summer, I have to get back into the habit of practicing a bit each day.
Something that helps me remember my Japanese are:
Japanese videos for kids!
Because I'm at a beginner level, I decided to watch some YouTube videos intended for children to improve their Japanese. Here are some examples:
Days of the Week
Family Members
Body Parts
I try to watch these videos at least every other day to refresh my mind of what I learned last semester. I would recommend this to anyone starting to learn Japanese! It's helped me in remembering Japanese words in a fun and cute way!

Haha, I also in for a rude awakening when I got back a few weeks ago and realized how much I had forgot since May! I'm glad you were able to use these resources to help refresh your Japanese vocab, and I might give them a go in the future!
ReplyDeleteI love these videos! I remember watching them some of them before like the Days of the Week and Body Parts videos. I think it's really cool that you watch the videos at least once a day to remind yourself of them!
ReplyDeleteReading your post and watching these videos made me realize how helpful even short songs can be for learning Japanese. I will definitely follow your recommendation to help improve my Japanese.
