Blog 02: Tokyo Vlog

Video

I selected a video from a Japanese YouTube channel named "Akane's Japanese Class" or "あかね的日本語教室" in Japanese. The channel is run by a Japanese teacher named Akane and is designed for intermediate and advanced Japanese learners, as well as beginners. I found the video enjoyable and informative because it not only provided a glimpse into life in Japan but also included useful everyday conversations.

Comments/Thoughts

I enjoyed watching Akane's video because it was not only entertaining to see what life in Japan is like, but also informative for learning the language. She shared daily conversations used in real-life situations and provided a glimpse of her day, from taking the train to booking a hotel. The video was immersive, it could make the viewer feel they are right there, experiencing it as well! Also, I found it fascinating to hear an entire conversation in Japanese, which is something I'm not accustomed to.

  2. I gave the video a watch to check it out, and it was quite relaxing. I was also impressed at how much phrases I could pick up on, despite being so early on in studies. Definitely nowhere near the level of understanding talking as fast as the hotel worker did, though.
