『SPY×FAMILY』OP「SOUVENIR」

こんにちは! The video I watched was the music video of the second opening song of SPYxFAMILY, an adorable and wholesome anime that I've been watching lately! [おすすめします (˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶)] The music video includes lyrics, although only in Japanese. When I only listened to the song, I couldn't really tell what the singer was saying. I decided to look up the translation to try to catch more words and understand what the song is about. I clicked on the following link: > Link < This website did help me understand the message! The song is about a person who is collecting memories and following a path toward that person, like keeping souvenirs of important moments! The website also showed the Japanese lyrics as well as romaji. One thing that grabbed my attention was the use of te-form verbs like あるいて, one of the verbs from Lesson 6! The verb 'run' also was in its te-form (はしる --> はしって). I actually did not know this verb, but now I'll remember! - - - - -...

Blog 04: Short Drama Video

こんにちは! Last week, I came across the video below on my Youtube feed and decided to click on it out of curiosity. Video Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_1yJRt6dQ4 The video is Japanese Listening Practice, intended to help beginners like me get a sense of what Japanese sounds in a day-to-day situation! The video plays a story twice, once without subtitles and the other time with subtitles + explanations (with examples) on some Japanese words/phrases. In this video, the cute characters went to a Conveyor Belt Sushi Restaurant. When I was hearing it, I immediately noticed the use of これ, それ, and あれ! It felt like a review of last week's material. What I like about this video is the speed at which the characters talk. They speak at a slower pace, making it easy to take in and understand what they are saying. I recommend this video + the other Listening Practices in their Youtube channel!

Blog 02: にほんのこどもようビデオ

After a long summer break and starting school again, I realized that I forgot much of what I had learned in Elementary Japanese I. Since I didn't practice my Japanese over the summer, I have to get back into the habit of practicing a bit each day. Something that helps me remember my Japanese are: Japanese videos for kids! Because I'm at a beginner level, I decided to watch some YouTube videos intended for children to improve their Japanese. Here are some examples: Days of the Week Family Members Body Parts I try to watch these videos at least every other day to refresh my mind of what I learned last semester. I would recommend this to anyone starting to learn Japanese! It's helped me in remembering Japanese words in a fun and cute way!
